Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

A nice lazy Friday

110th entry: 25april2007 22:47
listening to: rise above this - seether

One day after the sports leader camp at Nacli, and the camp was much better than I had expected! Definitely, I did not expect much of the camp to start with, so it turned out better without much surprise as well. The main objective of the camp is to provide an interactive platform for all the sporting members and leaders to gather and share thoughts to make everyone's jobs easier. I thought it would be more effective to just include discussions and sharing sessions to gather feedback as a collective group, but the part on games (supposedly to build rapport with members of the other sports clubs) wasn't that effective in bonding everyone together.

Post-camp thoughts - I have a much better insight of the different management styles of various sports clubs because of their size, requirements, periods of competition and major events. Also had a good talk with them on the kind of problems each club is facing, seemingly different problems which I would never have thought about. Thanks to all who had willingly shared their experiences and added value to the camp besides the long discussions and talks with the OSL and SSU peeps.

Yup physically tired from traveling to and fro Nacli, cos it's damn freaking far. Nevetheless, I was pretty happy to enjoy the comfort of sleeping in my own bed (although I must admit that the accom at Nacli was seriously rather good too), just couldn't resist the idea of 'staying out'. So I came home on Wed to make the booking for the upcoming Bangkok trip in August, after my internship. So that'll be something little to look forward to when I start toiling for the summer internship, gonna have a good time shopping and unwinding before preparing for another demanding school term.

Spent the whole of today slacking, taking naps, checking out videos on Youtube, traveling to the library to borrow some books, and it is really enjoying to have all the time to do things slowly without rush. A far cry from a usual day during the school term... Now I have a couple of good books to accompany me for these 2 weeks, and for another few days before Sweetheart comes back from China. Haha maybe I should also get busy with my community service and internship reports, both LONG overdue... I don't have the mood to associate myself to school at all at least for this weekend, so probably till Monday will I see myself starting on the reports.

And some good news, my amnesia cleared partially cos I found my friend's textbook in another friend's locker, and that means I do not have to fork out money to buy a new one, but more importantly, I feel so much better knowing that I did not lose something that I borrowed. Yup looking forward to a couple of things this weekend on top of the sufficient rest and lengthy naps... Tennis tomorrow morning! Yup kinda looking forward since the week before study break. And volleyball training on Sunday too, also haven't been training intensively since a long time due to school work. As for the SMUX event, Volar, on Sunday, I'm having second doubts about attending it even though it sounds really interesting and fun. But Tanjong Beach is really far and inaccessible and unless someone offers to give me a lift, I'm really lazy to travel there to have fun. But worse than that, I could not find anyone who is the least bit interested to go with me, must be the location lah... maybe SMUX can look into that next year. Hahaha now I understand how other people felt about going for Waikiki, the location must have been a huge put-off... then again, where else can you hold a hip beach event other than on sunny Sentosa?

Alright, before I wait too long for Sweetheart to come online, I'll start reading the Kite Runner first (didn't manage to catch the film early this year.. prob rent a DVD sometime)
