Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

Almost done with June 2007

95th entry: 29june2007 22:49
listening to: liang bai ju shang - alan kuo

The last blog entry was after the French Open finals between Nadal and Federer. Now it's tennis fever again, Wimbledon this time! Really quite pissed for not having sports cable channels... and its not like kopitiams bother to broadcast tennis matches (in fact they only bother about soccer).

It's the end of the seventh week of my internship, three more weeks to go before I leave that place and start another hectic semester. Somehow I became appreciative of summer holidays, even though I have to wake up so early everyday for work, and dress up in formal business wear everyday, and make myself busy with work and non-work-related stuff.

Have been busy scouring through the loads of survey responses in office lately, collating the data and recounting them again... super tedious and mind-numbing. Finally got over and done with that manual countsheet and the excel spreadsheet for good this morning. Felt a bit unwell after lunch today, so I took half day leave to come home to rest. I haven't been having enough sleep for weeks and I really wanna rest for a while when internship ends. What happened to my personal pact of early nights and healthier lifestyle?

I wanna meet up with friends who I haven't met in a long time. Trying hard to meet up with old friends for lunch recently, not long before everyone gets busy again. Also looking forward to the short trip in mid august to HK, planning right now in fact. Travelling is just keeping me going right now, the break I needed after this hectic summer, yeah.

Alright some of the interesting things that happened lately:
- Gathering with the SMU gang for seafood dinner 2 weeks ago, at some ulu place near Hougang. Super satisfying meal, no doubt about that, just that hanging out with u guys makes me think of him... I can't help it.
- Had my haircut... and although it feels more comfortable now, I still missed the comfort my long hair had provided me with - nvm 6 months again.
- Small Uni-Y gathering at YMCA on the 22nd - reminded me of how detached I have become from SMU, it just feels different being near school again.
- Went Mustafa Centre last Saturday!! And I liked it alot, cos it didn't feel like Singapore at all. The dimsum at Geylang after that was equally fantastic! (HK has more and I can't wait)
- Department bonding session cum food tour yesterday! Went to Arab Street's famous cafe for the exotic food and the sheesha! The main course was fabulous (not the appetizers, ironically) and trying out the sheesha made everyone laughing nonstop. Too bad I couldn't join in the murtabak and mee goreng after that... but the girls can really eat (esp. Nas haha)

Yup all that in a few weeks, plus numerous volleyball trainings and movie outings and tuition. That's June 2007 for me.
