Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

A reason to celebrate

84th entry: 26february2006
listening to: lithium - evanescence

Just hosted the 2F new year gathering at my place, and after steamboat, some card-gambling and mahjong, I'm feeling the fatigue and the idea of waking up at 7am tomorrow morning (or rather this morning) is not helping at all. At least the LTB lesson tomorrow will see us playing games instead...

2F'99 gang at my house for steamboat

Had a good chat with Tim, Liting and Yixiu when the rest of them are playing mahjong outside. We talked about university life, career options, internships and many more. I really feel like I'm getting old and I'll need to make many important decisions as I grow older and find a job upon graduation. There are really plenty of things I wanna do during these few years of my life as an uni student. Especially when the girls are grimacing that they'll have to start looking for jobs very soon and most of them are not exactly looking forward to that idea. Sometimes I really wonder how my career will turn out to be.

Besides that, I also had a conversation with her last night when we talked about the things in life and although I was really tired, I really thought through the questions she asked. This weekend wasn't that great without her, notwithstanding Waikiki 2007 and the steamboat earlier on.

By the way, I'm relishing the last few moments of my midterm break before the workload starts to pile up again. And I'm not looking forward to getting my midterm papers back as well but it doesn't really that much. In addition to visiting friends and relatives for the past week which was both tiring but interesting, I also found some time to catch movies.

Watched "Notes on a Scandal" and "Protege" last week and I thought that both movies were rather decent. The former was a black comedy albeit a rather distasteful plot with odd twists. Nevertheless, I feel that the movie brought out a different perspective to the run-of-the-mill productions and it somehow made the experience a little better. I know Tim will cringe whenever the movie name is mentioned and the term 'delicious' will also be viewed differently from now onwards.

The latter was a film by Derek Yee and the cast was impressive. Daniel Wu is cool, Andy Lau is charismatic, and Zhang Jingchu (the lady who was addicted to drugs) is simply attractive. When the cast looks this good, the plot expectedly fails miserably. How much more predictable can a movie be?

Also, Waikiki occurred last Saturday and although I felt really lazy to walk around (cos the weather was scorching hot) it felt really good to let your hair down and just enjoy the heat and the fun. SMU people really knows how to enjoy and I think Waikiki 2007 is a great success. Of course, the beach volleyball crowd was also sizzling hot, thanks to the winning team and a few other teams which were also rather impressive. Got to know a few more volleyball fellas whom I didn't know at first and also got a nice tan from being out in the sun for so many hours. Really appreciated the day out at Sentosa, very shiok to just hang out on the beach and get some action from beach vball.

Alright, it's getting late and I need to catch some sleep before beginning the week in a few hours time. Some stuff to look forward to: the execution of the final LTB project on 11 March, the trip after final exams (which means the end of freshman year), internship from May to July.
