Looking back at 2006

2007 has arrived and my mind is full of thoughts. My pathetic brain takes damn long to process them, and it is getting slower over the years. Feeling very fortunate to welcome 2007 and I have plenty of things to smile about!

My blog has been around for 2 years. I'm pleasantly surprised at my determination for keeping up with my personal updates and my reflections here. When things become complicated, I always try to simplify it by jotting them down here. On the contrary, I have also picked up the bad habit of complicating matters when they could be plain simple.

Many things have happened in 2006:
Jan - pre-ORD trip to Bangkok with army gang, started volunteering at Hougang FSC
Feb - 13-day backpacking trip to Taiwan with 2 great pals
Mar - ORD-loh, started relief teaching at Poi Ching School
Apr - relief teaching at Yu Neng Pri
May - short getaway to Genting with Tim, Tecko and Douglas, temp job at Sentosa, camp instructor job (Compassvale Sec, East View Sec rock!), landed the OCBC scholarship
Jun - one month temp at SIA Engrg
Jul - Oikos Econs Orientation Camp, Uni-Y Freshmen Orientation Camp
Aug - FTB Camp, start of SMU school life
Sep - 21st birthday (start of adult life)
Oct - thick in the action of neverending projects and presentations...
Nov - busier than Oct, feeling down for a while, Term 1 finals
Dec - SHANGHAI ISP!

On the whole, I'm thankful for the wonderful year. The bountiful experiences I've amassed from my NSF life, my travel experiences, my relationships, my temp jobs, my fantastic overseas community service involvement, my new SMU life and company are going to be with me forever. Learn to grow and you will grow to learn more.

2007 - Someone to love more for the new year, families and friends to embrace for life, myself to search forever.
