Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

End of camps

64th entry: 10august2006 14:10
listening to: high - james blunt

Finally, I'm done with camps. First it was Econs 'Oikos' Orientation Camp, then Uni-Y Freshmen Orientation cum Comm Service Camp and lastly, Freshmen Teambuilding Camp, which just ended yesterday. I haven't had much sleep for the past few weeks and it's making me wonder how much worse it's going to get when school starts.

The most recent teambuilding camp was quite a 'happening' one and my group (E29) was made up of a bunch of unique characters. It was them who set the pace of the camp, making it a slack fest and relax party. Besides that, we also made quite some noise when it comes to reflection/debrief time, and I believe some of the senior facis couldn't stand us for that reason. But we challenged them because we felt that there should be improvements for the next 2 camps, not because we were simply bochap or crazy. Anyway, the camp turned out to be rather good. After the kayaking high and the thrashing out of conflicting interests and ideas before dinner, I think our group sort of bonded much better. The campfire was also not so bad (besides me on stage stuffed with marshmallows in my mouth, the game really sucked man!).

The thing I love most about the whole camp has to be the campsite together with the sea view, strong wind and planes above!! Nothing can beat that invigorating feeling and of course i was also thinking about the vacation I missed. Now, I'll probably have to wait till year end to see that happening, or maybe even longer cos I need to start saving up for my exchange in year 3.

Met up with SO2A people for dinner last night and we had such a good time just chatting about how life has been lately. I feel that the class spirit is stronger than when it was back in JC days. Everyone has stories to share about their school life (quite a few overseas), working days and many more. The girls seem to be doing well and very soon they'll be graduating!! Really looking forward to a larger attendance at our next gathering.

Now that I'm done with camps, I still have some time left to meet up with friends, bid farewell to those leaving for exchange or studies, settle any other remaining stuff and of course, have time for myself to relax properly! I also don't mind falling sick now, cos I have all the time to recover and feel great when school starts!
