Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

...enough to last? even for a lifetime?

61th entry: 26july2006 23:55
listening to: the riddle - five for fighting

Helped out with a camp on Mon with the bunch of Camp HA crazy instructors. This time round, the campers were a fleet of aspiring teacher trainees and they were undergoing the NIE course. The day camp was only a part of the bonding and team togetherness they have to experience before graduating from NIE.

In addition, I also managed to catch up with a few old colleagues from schools where I had taught before and I couldn't help but marvel how small Singapore is. When the day camp finally ended, I gave the teachers in my group my most sincere blessings and wished them all the best. I was also glad that they reflected positive stuff about the camp in general and of course their trainer as well (that's me)! Hehe!

Went for volunteering on Tues, and I felt really bad for skipping last week's session to enjoy shopping and dinner in JB... The mood of yesterday's session was a little less upbeat. The students were not interested in the assignment and there were also fewer volunteers around. Cindi also mentioned that she was contemplating to pull out of the programme cos she was afraid that she won't be able to commit when school starts. Actually, when I was persuading her to reconsider, I wasn't exactly sure how my level of commitment is going to turn out too. However occupied I may be, I promise myself I'll keep up the efforts, at least till the end of this year.

Actually, I came back from tuition just now and found myself disillusioned again. Sometimes, I can't help but relish the idea of cancelling the tuition just to slack at home or go for a run. Everyone has the same amount of time in a day and then Valerie Teo can juggle medical studies and professional bowling so well. Maybe I should start reconfiguring myself to get accustommed to the new life ahead, for survival's sake

Ok, maybe I should also keep my blog entries short and sweet, then I have more time to do other stuff. Anyway, I should be taking a short break from blogging cos I'll be attending the SMU Econs camp tomorrow. Gonna be late again (after last week's late arrival for the Marche gathering) cos I have to attend the scholarship presentation tomorrow as well. My parents are going to be more thrilled than me and I can understand their anticipation. More photos hopefully by next week.
