Everyone has a part to play and you can do better than the people around you, if you believe.

What's important:
1) Helping others with your abilities and not just with money
2) Looking good and of course important, that's basic self respect
3) Feel important and be useful, there's a place for everyone in this world, find yours
4) Love those worth loving, family, friends, idols, dogs etc
5) Stay true to yourself, that's an often overlooked source of happiness

fever has finally found me

33th entry: 8november2005 12:34
listening to: tuo yan - z chen

i'm feeling very terrible now... blocked nose, sore throat, full of phlegm, full body ache, headaches, drowsy all the time. i seriously dislike being unwell, not even the slightest comfort could be derived from a couple of days of MC.

my fever started on sunday and when i thought i was just experiencing some minor muscle aches and slight headaches, i didn't expect myself to be down with fever. i must admit i haven't been taking good care of myself lately especially during the long deeparaya break. right now, i still can't quite figure
out whether i'm feeling warm or cold. alright enough of complaining how uncomfortable i'm feeling now.

yup so i stayed at home and did quite a bit of planning for 2006.
- bangkok budget shopping trip
- taiwan visit-friends cum hongkong stopover trip
- US backpacking trip (that is depending how much money i have left by then)
which is why i see the urgent need to curb my spending and start saving more. by the way, i was quite impressed with my friend who managed to save nearly $7K throughout his NSF life so far! found it hard to believe at first but i realised later that it wasn't impossible. so there it goes, i'll start saving more from now onwards, only a few months left before my NSF allowance will come to an end, but at least i can save a decent amount to fund my trips in 2006. of course, 2006 can't be all play and no work. so i'm intending to be a full-time tutor or relief teacher or some other freelance jobs.

oh yah the recent drop in COE prices is indeed making new car purchases very attractive, especially the off-peak cars. besides the upfront $17K rebate and significantly reduced road tax, i also realised that with less frequent usage comes less need for maintenance and car park fees. Really quite eager to own a car to drive around, so when recently my dad briefly expressed interest in getting a car, i was elated for that moment. but i know that no matter how cheap cars are right now, my family doesn't really require a set of wheels so why waste the money?

found myself doing stupid things lately as well. when i was discussing about owning cars with a few of my camp mates, i spontaneously entered a singapore pools outlet to buy 'numbers' (literally). only to realise that it is extremely hard to strike any of the prizes unless you buy the numbers in some combinations or permutations which costs more... haha anyway it was pure fun putting down a bet, knowing at least you stand a chance, no matter how remote the odds are.

yup so tomorrow i'll be back in camp for work, getting really busy with exercise prep. and i believe i need a few days to get accustommed to bedok camp once again cos i haven't really been around since a month ago. when the long break was meant to allow myself to be invigorated, i ended up running a fever... alright i think i better finish up what i was supposed to during the long break before plunging into hectic camp life starting tomorrow.
